April's Featured Soap Scent is Lilac! April 01 2026, 0 Comments

Spring is starting to show herself more and more. The bright green blush of new buds in the forests around my farm are now the dominant color I see every morning outside my kitchen window. The birds are nesting and their morning song wakes me long before my alarm does. The days are longer than the nights and the morning air is sweet with the scent of the lilacs. I have planted several over the year here at my farm. One particular shrub growing in my front yard has the tiniest, pale purple blooms starting to open and their perfume is absolutely gorgeous.

For the many years I have been making and selling my soap, Lilac has been the most popular and most sold floral of them all. Often, I hear a customer say after smelling it, "Oh, this reminds me of my mother," followed by a detail about their mom. I love stories, especially those triggered by a scent, a song, or a sight. I have so many of my own too.

Lilacs are not only beautiful to look at with their many colors, shapes, and sizes, they are also great at giving you gardening advice. That advice generally comes long before you see their blooms. My dear friend Terry often reminds me, "When a lilac's leaves are the size of a mouse's ear, its time to plant your peas." I planted my peas back in March when the leaves were just the right size and now my lilacs have not only their leaves out fully, but the bud clusters are visible. Soon, their scent will permeate the morning breeze coming in my window.

This soap is made with our Signature Soap recipe with an Avocado Oil base. This is standard soap scent which means it is available year-round for purchase so you can enjoy the fresh, sweet smell of lilacs whenever you like! Order yours today!
